A 2018-Cosplay-Recap!

After posting a cosplay recap for 2017 I thought: Why not do it again in 2018? It’s a nice way to see what you did and achieved within a year! So here it is!

In 2018 I did two new selfmade costumes!
And one that is 1/3 selfmade, 1/3 bought clothing and 1/3 lend clothing!
So all in all 3 new cosplays which you can see here:

Cosplay Overview 2018 – Nikasparkle

The first costume is my Elsa Frost cosplay. The wig is selfmade, the hoodie is the one my Jack Sorasparkle made and the rest is bought (or I had it at home). I love wearing Elsa! I am super proud of the wig (<- click here to read about how I made it) and the hoodie is just super comfortable to wear!

The first completely selfmade costume I made this year is my Zoe Ayamoto / Izumi Orimoto cosplay from Digimon Frontier! Everything is selfmade, even the top and it’s stripes. Yes, the stripes were sprayed onto the fabric and then sewed together. It’s super comfortable to wear, although I’m not always quite happy with my belly and my thighs.

The last costume I finished this year is my Sheeta cosplay from Castle In The Sky! It was quite the challenge to make this cosplay but I’m super proud of it! It could be even poofier at the sleeves and pants, but nevertheless I just LOVE it! By far my most favourite costume this year.

In 2018 I sadly hadn’t had enough time to properly work on my YouTube and Twitch stuff. You know, sometimes life just happens. Same applies to my blog here, but that doesn’t mean It’s over. There will be coming new stuff eventually! I have some plans, I just need the time to properly work on it.

Nevertheless I am still very active on Instagram. And I am proud to say that I have nearly 700 follower on Instagram and over 6000 view on this blog!

I still need to get my serger to work properly and I would love to get some better organization into my sewing workplace. This will be a task for 2019, since I’ll be moving out somewhen this year.

Last but not least I participated in two cosplay contests in 2018! First together with my partner in crime Ophani in the EpicCon contest! And second alone in the DCM (german cosplay championship) prelim at Dokomi in june. I also managed to achieve the 5th place with which I could participate in the finals in october, but life still happens and in the end I hadn’t had the chance to participate.

Tharja, Making Of – Part 3: Wig and Cape

After a long, long time… I finally have some new Making Of Progress for you!
People on Twitter voted for more Tharja, so here you go!

If you haven’t seen my previous Making Of posts, feel free to check them out right here.

To start with the wig, I bought a cheap one from Ebay.
You cannot be too wrong with a black wig, right?
Once the wig arrived, I put it onto my wighead and started to pin the sections into place, to get a rough idea where which part has to go.

Once that was clear I styled these little ponytails at both sides. I think they look really cute, don’t they?
Although… if you remember that this is Tharja… it might not be as cute as it seems.

And then it was time for the bangs! The one thing I hate the most is cutting hair in a straight line.
I cut it a little bit off, one side is not at the same height as the other side, but It’s not as crucial as it seemed at first. So yay!

Cosplay-Plans 2018!

After my Cosplay Recap for 2017 I finally want to show you my plans for 2018. There will also be a New Year’s Resolution for 2018 eventually.

Just like my last Cosplay Plans for 2017 I will categorize this one here as well, starting with fixed conventions and cosplays, photoshoots, wishes, competitions and ending it with twitch & youtube projects.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
1st: conventions & cosplays
The first convention of the year is already over: EpicCon.
Also fixed for this year is the Leipzig Bookfair (short: LBM). I will be there on sunday and will wear Zoe Ayamoto from Digimon Frontier.
Vlog and Contest: EpicCon 2018
Hey everyone!
Normally my first convention of the year starts in spring… but this year is different!
Two weeks ago – on the 3rd and 4th of february – it was already time for EpicCon in Münster, Germany.
This year I really would like to attend a few cosplay competitions like DCM, the German Cosplay Championship. To start this off I competed in the cosplay contest from EpicCon on sunday. And I was not alone! I hadmy partner in crime, Ophani, with me! Together we did the best we could and had a lot of fun! We didn’t win anything, but that’s okay. It’s the experience that matters.
Here is our performance! It’s in German, but I added English subtitles! Feel free to take a look, if it interests you!
We wore Hikari Yagami and Angewomon from Digimon Adventure Tri and did a fanmade sequel to the dark ocean from season 02 on stage!
