After my Cosplay Recap for 2017 I finally want to show you my plans for 2018. There will also be a New Year’s Resolution for 2018 eventually.
Just like my last Cosplay Plans for 2017 I will categorize this one here as well, starting with fixed conventions and cosplays, photoshoots, wishes, competitions and ending it with twitch & youtube projects.
1st: conventions & cosplays
The first convention of the year is already over: EpicCon.
Also fixed for this year is the Leipzig Bookfair (short: LBM). I will be there on sunday and will wear Zoe Ayamoto from Digimon Frontier.
Cosplay Plan: Leipzig Bookfair – sunday: Zoe Ayamoto
LBM will take place on the 18th of march.
Since 2017 is over now and I did some more costumes last year than the years before, I wanted to give you a little year-recap of my costumes, photoshoots and cosplay-achievements 2017.
I managed to make six new costumes last year. two and a half of these are selfmade, one was sponsored and the otheres are bought together more or less. Here is an overview of my cosplay-year 2017:
Cosplay Overview 2017 – Nikasparkle
The first two (from upper left to right) are my Hikari Yagami costumes from Digimon Adventure Tri. Since she’s wearing the same uniform except for her top in winter and summer, I used the same skirt. That’s why I count these as 1,5 costumes. Here is the project, if you’re interested.
The third one is Hikari Yagami from Digimon Adventure Tri in her Yukata. She wears one in the second movie where they go to the onsen (hot spring). I bought the yukata in Japan and loved it from the beginning. It’s not exactly the same as in the movie, but I loved wearing it either way. Since I bought it I don’t have a project for this costume. If you want to know more about the wig please take a look at the uniform project from Hikari which is linked above. Eitherway, here is a side by side picture for you.
Forth is my Marinette Dupain-Cheng Ballgown from Miraculous Ladybug. I designed the gown myself and although this may not be recognized as Marinette without knowing, I really think it suits her character. I loved wearing the dress and it’s definately one of my favourite sewn clothes in 2017. Here is her project (in progress) and a side by side picture.
Hey everyone! Today I have a short life update for you!
After all the stress I had lately I can finally say…. I finished university!
My bachelors thesis is handed in and I’m waiting for my last and final grade as well as my certification.
As soon as I have this document I officially have a Bachelor of Arts degree in Asien Studies and Japanese.
I still remember graduating from school… wow. Time sure flies, don’t you think?
Graduation Robe, June 30th 2017
But that’s not everything, I have even more to say! I’m currently in denmark for vacation. Time to relax! :D
And even better: After my vacation I will prepare myself for something new. Something I wanted to do in the future and I will be able to do sooner than expected. Something I really love. A wish come true!
Long time no read!
Sorry for the lack of posting or editing anything on my blog these last months.
Right now I’m in the middle of graduating from university. In less than 2 months from now on I need to pass one oral test as well as 2 exams. I also need to finish my bachelor’s thesis. Hopefully I get everything done and accomplished!
If everything goes according to plan I will be one week in denmark at the beginning of september and I will have a lot more time to get my blog updated and work on costumes afterwards (at least as long as I don’t have a job yet).
Also the “Connichi” is coming up in the middle of september and I plan on attending this German convention! <3
It is finally time to talk about my plans I have for 2017!
If it interests you, feel free to read this blogpost. If you’re here for a character specific blogpost, why not read the last one I posted? Just click here.
Warning: There will be a lot of text! If you don’t want to read everything, you could just take a look at the pictures if you want to! :)
Let’s start with the fixed plans: the conventions I’m visiting including the costumes I will wear that time. I only have two conventions I’ll be going to 100% this year and one “maybe-convention”. These will be the following ones:
May 20th; Düsseldorf, Germany
I haven’t been to the Japanday in costume the last few years, so I decided to try it out again. I will probably wear the Yukata Hikari Yagami wears in Digimon Adventure Tri together with a friends as Sora Takenouchi. Although I won’t sew a new Yukata! I will wear the one I bought in Japan which looks similar to the one she wears in the movie.
June 3rd & 4th; Düsseldorf, Germany
If I can get it done, I want to wear Ladybug (Miraculous) on saturday with a friend as Chat Noir, a miraculous-inspired Ballgown for the cosplay-prom and Tharja with a gigantic Fire Emblem Awakening/Fates group on sunday.
I am thinking about visiting the Connichi in Kassel, Germany, which takes place from september 22nd to 24th. I am allowed to sleep over at a friend’s place, but I cannot say for sure if I will attend the convention. I’m not sure if I have enough time or money at that time yet. I am also not sure which costumes I should wear.
Hey guys! <3
After some time I have a few announcements and updates I wanted to share with you.
This might be a longer blogpost, but if you’re interested, please follow along or just read the text underneath each point you want to know more about!
First of all I will change the layout of this blog as soon as I have the time to do so. I want to give it a nice and unique touch and edit some pictures for that and I will probably also change the template (again). I hope it will look good and you like it! You’ll get a new update blogpost if I’m finished happy with the outcome.
Next will be my trip to Japan. I’m going to visit Tokyo for 3 weeks at the end of august and as you might know this requires a lot money, which won’t go into cosplay. And because of this expensive vacation I won’t have the money, nor the time, to do a lot more costumes. There are a few more planned, which I will tell you later on in this post, but it will probably take longer. I want to spend more time into sewing and making costumes to get better quality. I hope this somehow works out! :D
If you want to know more about my Tokyo trip, feel free to check out my travelblog right here.
3rd: Social Media
Talking about some more cosplay related things again. As you might have noticed: I’m very slow when it comes to explaining progress in a very detailed way. Sometimes it’s very hard since English is not my native language! I’m always doing my best, though. Including my every day life, sewing cosplays, going to university and studying … there is not that much time for this blog. If you don’t want to wait that long or don’t want to read detailed explanations, feel free to check out my twitter and instagram profile. These are more frequently updated.
